SHAPE was engaged under an Early Contractor Involvement and Design & Construct model to deliver the refurbishment of Elysium Noosa, in collaboration with Arkadia and project partners Mostyn Copper and Mitchell & Eades. The project supported the transformation of the landmark Noosa resort into the first Elysium-branded property in Australia, operated by Accor under its luxury lifestyle portfolio. Works included the refurbishment of 165 guest rooms, upgrades to corridors and lift lobbies, and the repositioning of the hotel’s Hastings Street bar and restaurant as a premium hospitality destination.
During the ECI phase, SHAPE worked closely with the consultant team to refine the design, enhance buildability, and provide cost certainty ahead of construction. Mock-up rooms were delivered to ensure the documentation aligned with the new Elysium brand, enabling the client to assess key design elements prior to full rollout.
The guest room refurbishment was delivered within a tight nine-month program, with procurement undertaken through a staged approach to maintain room availability in line with the hotel’s operational requirements. The project required meticulous planning, including extensive design coordination across services and finishes.
In addition to the room refurbishment, SHAPE delivered the full transformation of resorts Hastings Street bar and restaurant precinct, now home to Cibaria Noosa and Capri Bar. Works included a brand-new commercial kitchen and dedicated prep kitchen, new basement amenities, a redesigned bar, and the introduction of a lily pond dining experience. The revitalised offering has been carefully curated to align with the operator’s palate and operational requirements, delivering a cohesive, high-end hospitality experience.
