What's important to

SHAPE Melbourne

For more than 30 years we’ve delivered commercial fitouts and refurbishment for clients in the greater Melbourne region. During that time, we have grown to over 100 employees and expanded our capabilities to include heavy refurbishment, new build and facade replacement projects. Our team has a proven track record of delivering high-quality outcomes, particularly in live environments and secure spaces. At the heart of our business is a commitment to people, equality, collaboration, and sustainability. Through our initiative ReSHAPE, we work to benefit non-profit organisations by providing materials that would otherwise go to landfill.

General Manager - Adam Head

Adam joined SHAPE in 2008 as a Project Manager and has held several roles since, including Commercial Manager, Group Manager of Design & Construct, and most recently General Manager of Victoria. Through a partnership approach, Adam collaborates with clients in the office, hotel, education, healthcare, retail and speciality sectors to deliver projects on time and defect-free.

Adam is a father to two boys, a dog, and a cat. He is a vinyl connoisseur and avid collector, keen runner, and a long-time Carlton Blues fan.

Meet the team Melbourne

Michael Buddee

Commercial Manager

With tertiary qualifications in both Civil Engineering and Architecture, Michael’s passion and speciality are projects where SHAPE has the ability to influence design outcomes. During Michael’s 10+ years at SHAPE, he has specialised in Design & Construct and ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) projects. His understanding of all facets of project delivery allows him to guide his teams seamlessly from ECI right through to practical completion. Michael is a people-focused manager who cares deeply about his team and clients and works collaboratively with all parties to achieve excellent project outcomes.

As Michael was born in Thailand, it should come as no surprise that he adds chilli to everything. When he’s not busy making things happen for SHAPE, you’ll find him walking his dog, Penny, cooking up a storm, or cutting shapes (pun intended) on a dance floor.

Cherie Lancaster

Group Manager - People & Culture

After completing a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Human Resources, Cherie landed a HR role within property and construction, and was hooked on the industry. Working as part of the People & Culture Team since 2009, Cherie looks after all things people, with her main purpose being to support the leaders to make SHAPE a great place to work. This means getting involved in recruitment, learning and development, leadership coaching, remuneration and benefits, and organisational culture.

Cherie grew up in country NSW, and after completing study and working in the UK, she came home and settled in Melbourne. Cherie is a mum of three, who enjoys excellent coffee, great wine, good laughs, and holidays in the sun.

Aiden Barnes

Estimating Manager

Aiden’s past roles as a Site and Project Manager and extensive experience with projects ranging in complexity throughout Australia, the UK and South Africa, play into his approach as an Estimating Manager. Aiden’s exposure to all phases of a project allows him to lead a highly successful and enthusiastic team of estimators. He is solutions-driven with a strong focus on subcontractor relationships, teamwork, and attention to detail. He’s able to understand clients’ risks and present cost-effective strategies and further value engineering solutions to align with their project goals.

Aiden has a love of travelling, writing, and music. He believes there is nothing better than camping with the kids in the bush and watching them quickly turn feral. If there’s no rugby on, he’ll happily barrack for the Hawks.

Fergal Prunty

Operations Manager

With over 20 years in the industry, Fergal has gained a breadth of knowledge and developed strategies on implementing standards and safety targets for our project teams. Prior to his appointment as Operations Manager, Fergal worked as a Site Manager for SHAPE. He truly understands the challenges SHAPE’s teams face working in operational environments and provides the necessary resources required to deliver every project we undertake successfully. Fergal works closely with the production staff and site teams, developing tailored training sessions and creating initiatives to maintain morale.

Fergal loves spending time with his family and watching his three young children thrive. He also enjoys live music, a glass of fine wine, and cheese. Fergal likes to live his life with a positive mindset and enjoys spending time with like-minded people.

Anita Brazzale

Commercial Manager, Bid & Strategy

In her 25+ years in commercial fit out and refurbishment, Anita has worked in project management, estimating and training/mentoring roles. As Commercial Manager of Bid and Strategy, she has combined her acquired skills and industry knowledge to lead the Bid team from the identification of business opportunities, through to submission and tender evaluation processes. As she understands the complexities of each individual client and project, Anita makes it her priority to ensure our teams understand key client and project requirements from the start to finish.

Anita’s passion for construction and architecture began at a young age, inspired by her father. She adores her busy life with her husband and three children but occasionally enjoys relaxing with a book or yoga session.

Robert Hayes

Commercial Manager

A carpenter by trade, Rob has spent the last 15+ years with SHAPE, beginning as a Site Coordinator, and after several years switching over to the Project Management side. His love for any challenge has driven his passion for moving through and understanding different parts of the business, making him an ideal leader on any project. Rob’s extensive knowledge of the industry and construction risks allow him to foresee and mitigate risks to prevent or minimise any impact they may have on the projects outcome.

While living in London, Rob discovered his passion for travel, and now lives by the mantra of booking his next adventure as soon as the last one finishes. His favourite travel destination is Africa, and he loves all things sport.

Bronte Kerr

Business Development Manager

Beginning her career in Project Management for retail fitouts, Bronte found her passion for construction when she joined a builder (SHAPE) in 2017. Starting as Project Coordinator, she quickly moved through to the Project Manager role and has recently been given the opportunity of Business Development Manager for Victoria. Joining the Senior Leadership team in 2022 has been one of her greatest career achievements to date.

Bronte grew up as the youngest of five kids on a grape farm in Mildura. Moving to Melbourne to study at RMIT, she quickly fell in love with the city’s liveliness, culture, people, architecture, and hidden food gems. She now lives in Newport and enjoys beach walks, local cafes, and gardening.

Cameron McAndrew

Operations Manager

Cameron is a qualified Carpenter by trade and very much the ‘builders’ builder’. He thrives on the structured nature of the construction game and loves being the go-to person to solve complex buildability and high risk works scopes. Since starting at SHAPE in 2009, Cameron has held several roles, from Site Management to Construction Management and his current role as Operations Manager.

Melbourne Projects

As part of ‘Shaping Spaces’, we are committed to managing our clients’ entire project timeline from design to defect-free delivery. To ensure this, we offer Design & Construct (D&C) and turnkey solutions, which are quickly becoming the preferred method of procurement on commercial projects due to their fast-tracked and cost-effective outcomes. By engaging SHAPE early in the design process, our team can provide valuable buildability and procurement advice, allowing projects to move to build as soon as documentation is ready. Through the D&C approach, we manage the project process for clients from beginning to end, providing detailed cost reporting and project management updates throughout the build.

We built our business on Australia-wide office fitouts and refurbishments, and it’s still a large part of what we do today. With much of our lives spent at work, we know how important it is to create environments that inspire and improve the experience of every employee. The way we work is constantly evolving, and so too is the workplace itself. Having a trusted partner with vast experience in the sector gives our clients the peace of mind that their spaces are looked after throughout their lease. From building company headquarters and agile offices to minor alterations, or base building upgrades, our many repeat clients are a testament to our reputation of delivering exceptional working spaces.
