SHAPE delivers fresh new spaces for Tallebudgera Surf Club

SHAPE was engaged to deliver the expansion of the iconic Tallebudgera Surf Club. Working closely with MG Group, SHAPE delivered a multi-faceted redevelopment that blended new build construction with upgrades to existing spaces, expanding the club’s footprint across two levels, enhancing functionality to better serve its growing membership and bringing new life into this much-loved Gold Coast venue.

The project involved the partial demolition of the existing southern section of the club and the construction of a new, two-level extension, as well as critical infrastructure upgrades and new cutting-edge amenities, increasing venue capacity and opening up ocean views.

Key components of the expansion included a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen to support high-volume food service operations, multiple new dining and function areas designed for flexibility, events, and community gatherings, a dedicated service café, a modern club gym, upgraded amenities, essential services and compliance enhancements and a ground floor members and guest café that takes advantage of its stunning coastal outlook.

Delivered in a live hospitality environment with tight coastal site conditions, SHAPE worked closely with stakeholders to keep the project running smoothly, maintain services, and minimise disruption for members and the local community.

The completed expansion has significantly boosted the club’s operational capacity, member experience and commercial potential. With new dining and social spaces, a high-performance kitchen and modern amenities, Tallebudgera Surf Club is now positioned as one of the Gold Coast’s leading venues, ready to welcome locals and visitors for years to come.
