Tom Sparkes

General Manager

Career

Tom first joined SHAPE in 2009 in the Adelaide office, and was appointed to General Manager of ACT in 2019. He has extensive knowledge and experience of contract management and has built a reputation as a problem solver with a calm and methodical approach to delivering complex projects within tight budgets and schedules. Tom is a constructive leader that excels at creating and maintaining relationships between all stakeholders while motivating his team to achieve successful project deliveries every time.

Life

Born into a family of Architects, Tom formed a passion for construction from an early age. Originally from Mildura, Victoria, he is an avid sports fan and a cult member of St Kilda Football Club. He enjoys travel, wine, and food, particularly cooking Italian cuisine, and staying active with his wife Danni and two dogs Lenny and Willow.

Brad Hammond

Operations Manager

‘Hamma, Sponge’

Career
A Canberra local, Brad started his career as a joiner before joining SHAPE in 2006 in site management. His focus became operations and safety, and he is now the ACT Operations Manager. Client communication and satisfaction is Brad’s primary focus when working on any project, showcased by his great client relationships, commitment to meeting deadlines, and his ability to support project teams in managing risk and delivering successful handovers.

His detailed knowledge of SHAPE’s project delivery systems enables him to effectively manage the implementation of these systems to ensure a quality outcome for the client across quality and work, health, safety, and environment (WHS&E).

Life
Brad winds down by getting outdoors and camping with family and friends. He considers himself a tech geek and an avid sports fan, following Formula 1 and Supercars religiously, while being a long-suffering Carlton supporter.

Mark Mikolajczak

Senior Commercial Manager

Career
Mark has been part of SHAPE since 1995, starting as a Building Cadet and progressing over the years to Senior Commercial Manager. With decades of experience delivering complex construction projects, he brings deep technical knowledge across all aspects of the industry and a strong understanding of the Canberra market. Mark oversees the delivery of multiple projects from pre‑construction through to handover, applying strong project, programme and risk management expertise to achieve high‑quality outcomes. A practical and effective leader, he prioritises innovation, safety and careful planning, supported by a keen commercial sense.

Life
Mark is an active member of the Polish community in Canberra and enjoys sports, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family.

Brett Perrot

Construction Manager

Career
Brett started his career as an apprentice carpenter/joiner more than 35 years ago. During his career, he has worked on projects up to $750m in both the residential and commercial sectors. Prior to working at SHAPE, Brett spent 15 years as a Foreman and then Site Manager with Lendlease where he worked all over Australia. In his current role as Construction Manager, Brett provides a range of technical, programming and WHS&E support to project teams and prioritises his relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Life
Brett is slowly renovating his home in Canberra during his spare time. He loves fishing with a passion and would happily fish from a pothole if it was full of water.  An outdoors person, Brett loves hiking and fishing the Murrumbidgee River Corridor, wrangling his two young daughters, and following the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Adam Benson

Construction Manager

Career
Adam has over 32 years of experience in the construction industry, working with Tier 1 building firms. He has worked on several major projects in the ACT, including the Alexander Maconochie Centre, Acton South ‘The Apartments’, ‘Nishi’, ‘Palko-Nibu’, and the Stromlo Leisure Centre. Adam prioritises buildability, methodology and safety on site, leading the team across all aspects of project delivery. He also leads the internal training group at SHAPE, advising on buildability strategies, personnel development and contract management, and is passionate about supporting the growth of his colleagues.

Life
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his four kids, playing sports, gardening, boating and enjoying water sports. He has a love of cars and motorcycles and takes any opportunity to ride his motorcycle around town.

Wayne Rowe

Project Director

Career
Wayne is a passionate and highly experienced construction professional with more than 45 years in the industry across a variety of sectors. He has a proven delivery history built on developing strong collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders. Utilising his experience, Wayne manages project teams to successfully deliver the works with a strong focus on safety, program, quality, and within budget and defect fee.

Life
Wayne is a grandfather to three grandchildren that keep him busy outside of work. He’s an avid St Kilda fan and loves golf and travelling. Wayne’s best travel advice is to book the golf course before the accommodation – preferably close to a day spa so his wife can enjoy the trip as well.

Daniel Purdy

Project Director

Career
Dan’s career began as a bricklayer in 2002 before serving as a Royal Marines Commando from 2007 to 2015. Returning to construction, he built his career in London, progressing from Project Manager to Divisional Director leading a team specialising in Science and Higher Education. During this time, he delivered projects for prestigious clients, including the Houses of Parliament, Imperial College, and The Chartered Institute of Accountants. As a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, Dan is recognised internationally for his leadership and commitment to the highest standards in construction management. Today, he excels in building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors at all levels, combining all of his expertise in his role as Project Director.

Life
Originally from Essex in the UK, Dan now calls Australia home with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys the outdoors, motorcycles, skiing, and travelling, always making time for new adventures.

Harry Bradford

Project Director

Work
Harry began his construction career in 2013 and joined SHAPE in 2017 as a Project Coordinator. Since then, he has contributed to projects across SHAPE’s Canberra, Melbourne, and Perth branches, bringing a broad and well-rounded perspective to each role.
Harry has developed a strong interest in delivering projects within occupied environments and navigating complex building constraints.

Now a Project Director, his commitment to quality and on-time delivery has been recognised through industry awards, including the MBA TAS 2024 Award for Best Renovation/Fit-out ($1m–$5m).

Life
Away from work, Harry is an avid snowboarder, a suffering Essendon supporter, and a proud dad. He enjoys keeping active and believes there’s no better exercise than ultimate frisbee. He also appreciates great food and travel, with Japan topping the list for its world-class snow, incredible dining, and their people’s devotion to their pursuits.

Jessie Braganza

Office Manager

Career
With 15 years of experience in consulting, contract management, and client services, Jessie keeps operations running smoothly as Office Manager. She’s a problem-solver, known for her attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. Jessie brings fresh energy, strong interpersonal skills, and a practical, hands-on approach to workplace management. She thrives in a team setting and is passionate about creating an efficient, well-organized office that supports both staff and clients.

Life
Originally from Queensland, Jessie loves traveling, scuba diving, and unwinding on sun-kissed beaches. On weekends, you’ll find her tackling DIY projects or spending time with her husband and two young sons.
