Delivering a multi-purpose modular sporting facility for Wyndham City Council.

SHAPE was engaged by Wyndham City Council to design and construct the Manor Lakes North Reserve Pavilion, delivering a contemporary and inclusive modular facility for the local cricket and tennis communities.

The pavilion features a large multi‑purpose community room with floor‑to‑ceiling glazing, four cricket and tennis changerooms, first aid and umpires’ rooms, a kiosk and kitchen, storage areas and public amenities. External works also feature an outdoor deck and compliant access ramps, ensuring safe and accessible entry for all users.

From the outset, the team worked closely with Wyndham City Council to understand the project’s performance requirements and priorities for the facility. Early collaboration and clear communication supported efficient decision‑making and a well‑coordinated delivery. Seamless coordination with the head contractor responsible for the civil and sporting works, enabled proactive management of site interfaces to maintain safety, program certainty and quality.

The modular construction approach enabled a significant portion of the pavilion to be manufactured offsite, reducing on‑site construction time and minimising disruption to the surrounding sports fields and community. Offsite fabrication also supported improved safety outcomes, consistent quality control and efficient installation, with delivery aligned to the sporting off‑season to reduce impacts on local clubs.

Sustainability was a key consideration in the design and delivery of the facility. The pavilion incorporates solar power, energy‑efficient heat pump systems for showers and a recycled water connection supplying all toilet amenities, reducing potable water use and ongoing operating costs. Local suppliers and trades were prioritised throughout the project, and Council‑nominated security swipe access systems were installed within the pavilion.

Delivered within the agreed program and budget, the Manor Lakes North Reserve Pavilion provides a modern, flexible community facility that supports local sport while promoting accessibility, inclusion and long‑term value for the growing Manor Lakes community.
