To support their growing team, SHAPE WA transformed their Kings Square tenancy into a flexible, collaborative workplace in the heart of Perth. Designed to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating, the fitout celebrates local landscapes while embracing circular economy principles that saw more than 200 items reused.
The 463m² refurbishment delivers a welcoming, adaptable, and environmentally responsible space for both their people and their clients. The layout blends vibrant collaboration zones with quiet focus rooms. One of the most noticeable changes is the removal of the enclosed reception area, allowing their team to greet guests personally as they arrive and creating a warm first impression. A major technical upgrade was the installation of a state-of-the-art audiovisual system, enabling seamless connection with team members, clients and subcontractors from any location.
Sustainability was a driving force from concept to completion. More than 200 items, including chairs, desks, tables, and appliances were reused, alongside 213m² of reclaimed building products integrated seamlessly into the design. A further 85 percent of construction waste was also diverted from landfill through tracking and recycling. These initiatives reduced the environmental impact and contributed to a strong Green Star rating. Additional measures such as daylight harvesting, timed lighting, and CO₂ sensors further enhanced energy efficiency.
The project reimagined their existing footprint to reflect how they want to work and what they value, a high‑performing, sustainable, and people‑focused workplace they’re proud of, delivered through a collaborative design and construct approach. The upgraded SHAPE Perth office joins SHAPE’s portfolio of high‑performance, sustainably designed workplaces across Australia, many targeting 5 or 6 Star Green Star ratings and contributing to a record of more than 50 Green Star projects nationwide.
