Legacy Club of South Australia & Broken Hill Fitout

The Legacy Club of South Australia and Broken Hill, located within Torrens Parade Ground, provides valuable support for the families of Defence Force veterans who have passed away or become incapacitated through their military service or subsequently.

The Legacy Club had outgrown its existing space and needed to relocate within the Torrens Parade Ground. The new space required fitting out to meet the organisation’s needs, including a significant services upgrade to bring the space up to code, creation of new enclosed offices, meeting rooms, a reception space and supporting areas.

As the project took place within an iconic heritage building, there were limitations on what could be done without impacting the heritage fabric. Given the building’s age, it was difficult to undertake intrusive site inspections prior to commencing the work, and current as-built documentation was not available, resulting in some surprises on site after commencement. However, the wider project team maintained a collaborative approach which enabled the swift resolution of any latent conditions or scope changes without impacting the target completion date.

SHAPE was honoured to work with such an important organisation and to be able to hand over the space in time for their grand opening event. Throughout the project, our team organised a number of fundraising opportunities for the Legacy Club, and we look forward to continuing our support of this wonderful organisation.
