SHAPE delivers advanced cancer care facility with seamless off-site collaboration

SHAPE was engaged by GenesisCare under a design and construct agreement to deliver their new oncology clinic within the recently completed Playford Health Hub. The facility provides radiation therapy and cancer care services in a welcoming and calming environment, with warm timber finishes and nature-inspired detailing helping to soften the clinical setting.

Key components included construction of a new LINAC bunker, CT imaging room with radiation shielding, and supporting clinical and administrative spaces. Specialist medical equipment required complex delivery sequencing and installation, including lowering large components into the basement via a service shaft before constructing walls around them. Works were carefully coordinated within this newly constructed building, with multiple fitouts underway across various floors.

With key stakeholders and consultants based interstate, SHAPE’s clear and consistent communication was critical to the project’s success. Our team received excellent feedback from both the client and project manager, who highlighted our open and collaborative approach in navigating the challenges of working with an off-site project team while maintaining momentum and delivering a high-quality result.
