Award-winning delivery: SHAPE celebrates two wins at the 2026 MBA QLD Gold Coast Housing & Constructions Awards
A major government workplace transformation and a vibrant community club redevelopment have earned SHAPE Gold Coast two wins at the 2026 Master Builders Queensland Gold Coast Housing & Construction Awards.
Both SHAPE projects nominated received an award at the ceremony on Friday, 31 July. The City of Gold Coast Bundall Precinct Fitout won Commercial Refurbishment from $25 million up to $50 million, while the CSi Sports Bar and Family Entertainment Precinct won Tourism and Leisure Facilities up to $10 million.
Although different in purpose and scale, both projects required careful planning around ongoing operations, changing project needs and complex staging.
The City of Gold Coast Bundall Precinct Fitout transformed 19,500 sqm across 18 levels and three operational buildings. The project created contemporary workplaces featuring open-plan areas, meeting rooms, collaboration zones, café and breakout spaces, utility areas and a modern conference centre.
As staff were progressively relocated between buildings, SHAPE carefully coordinated construction sequencing, material movements and stakeholder communication to maintain business continuity. Delivered over 12 months, the programme included the design and delivery of the final building in just 12 weeks.
The project also created strong local participation, with 70 per cent of subcontractors and 95 per cent of the SHAPE project team based on the Gold Coast.
Following the successful delivery of earlier stages, CSi engaged SHAPE to deliver CSi’s Sports Bar and Family Entertainment Precinct. The project transformed existing alfresco and entertainment areas into a vibrant, family-focused destination supporting the Club’s long-term growth. Introducing new play areas, a kids club, family picnic space, children’s Splashpad, and an upgraded sports bar and beer garden.
Delivered within a live Club environment, SHAPE carefully staged the works and managed evolving designs, asbestos discoveries and equipment delays while maintaining operations. Approximately 85 per cent of construction waste was diverted from landfill.

The two awards reflect SHAPE Gold Coast’s ability to adapt its approach to different environments, from large-scale government workplaces to community-focused leisure facilities, while maintaining quality and operational continuity throughout delivery.
