Modular by SHAPE (formerly KLMS)
An important team within SHAPE, we develop and produce unique modular construction solutions to solve complex building challenges for our clients across Australia.
Focused on Client Needs
For more than three decades, our modular team has built its reputation as a market leader in delivering high-quality, modern and bespoke modular solutions. Combining a team of specialists, we provide clients with end-to-end modular solutions to ensure seamless project delivery, from initial feasibility and cost planning to design, manufacturing, site preparation, transportation, installation, landscaping, civil works, and fitout.
With multiple manufacturing facilities across Australia, we specialise in creating a diverse range of prefabricated solutions, both off-the-shelf and customised. Our offerings include buildings for schools, hospitals, offices, sporting facilities, community infrastructure, accommodation, and temporary facilities. These structures can be permanent, relocatable, or temporary, and are available for purchase, long-term lease, or short-term rental.
Smarter Buildings
Modular construction brings all the benefits of manufacturing to traditional construction, with a large part of the process done offsite. This supports faster project delivery, improved safety, exceptional quality control, minimal on-site disruption, and delivers more sustainable outcomes. Adopting non-traditional construction methodologies and new technologies allows us to overcome the toughest of construction challenges and unlock greater value for our clients.
Sectors
With over three decades of experience in the education sector, we have become a market leader in designing and delivering safe, functional, and modern modular learning facilities for early learning through to secondary schools and tertiary education. From standard modular classrooms to permanent double- and triple-storey modular buildings, we accommodate for a wide range of student needs in both design and functionality. With minimal on-site disruption and the ability to build around the school calendar, modular construction is fast becoming the preferred solution for schools. We can also provide high-quality, temporary classrooms that can be relocated as needed for schools in high-growth regions, and assist schools with obtaining government grants.
We specialise in crafting modular sporting pavilions predominantly offsite and can align installation with the off-season, a strategy that effectively reduces interference with ongoing sports events. Whether you’re a metro or regional council, after a small change-room facility or a large multi-use sports pavilion, our team has the flexibility, experience, and hands-on knowledge to deliver an end-to-end solution with a strong focus on service and quality. All of our sports pavilions comply with Female Friendly Sport Infrastructure Guidelines and the Australian Standards for Access and Mobility to ensure they are safe and comfortable for every member of the community.
We have a proud track record of delivering government projects across regional and metropolitan areas for local, state and federal governments. Our team of experts are well-equipped to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solutions to meet the unique needs of the community. We’re experienced in providing a range of building solutions, including sport and recreation facilities, libraries, public amenities, education and learning environments, and other community facilities. We also provide a range of temporary and transportable solutions, such as site offices for urban or regional infrastructure projects and buildings for healthcare or emergency service providers during pandemics or in natural disaster zones.
Modular construction is the perfect fit for the healthcare sector for its efficiency and minimised disruption. Healthcare facilities, like hospitals, general health clinics and aged care centres, often require rapid adjustments to meet changing needs. Our cutting-edge permanent or temporary modular buildings not only offer rapid deployment but also ensure minimal disturbance to patients, staff and healthcare operations, as the majority of the work is completed off-site. With the ability to transport our buildings to anywhere in Australia, our modular solutions are perfect for regional or rural healthcare facilities.
We have been one of Australia’s leading commercial fitout and refurbishment partners for more than three decades. With much of our lives spent at work, we know how important it is to create environments that inspire and improve the experience of every employee, whether it’s a temporary site office or a permanent workplace. Our modular team can provide a full turnkey solution from design, manufacture, construction and fitout, working with you every step of the way to ensure the building meets your needs and budget. We can also provide temporary decanting facilities for your staff while undergoing offices relocations or refurbishments.
We have significant experience in delivering Defence work and understand the unique and strict requirements that come with sensitive and confidential aspects of these projects. From active security clearances and tailored protocols to Defence specific management plans and programs, we are well equipped to deliver a wide range of permanent or temporary modular solutions. We understand that efficiency and dependability are key to delivering projects for government departments, which is why fast-tracked modular buildings are perfect solutions.
