SHAPE was engaged by Telstra to deliver a major workplace consolidation and refurbishment at their head office at 400 George Street, Sydney. The project effectively reduced Telstra’s footprint from 28,000sqm to 9,000sqm, spanning levels 3 to 7, and was designed to create a more connected, efficient and collaborative environment for their teams.
The transformation involved an in-situ refurbishment and full fitout across five levels, featuring an internal staircase linking levels 3 to 5 to improve vertical connectivity. Level 4 serves as the social and collaborative hub of the workplace, with extensive internal and external landscaping and a large town hall space for company-wide gatherings. Level 5 accommodates the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, providing premium meeting and workspace areas, while Level 3 houses the main boardroom. Critical infrastructure teams and key business units are located on Level 7, supporting seamless integration of operational and leadership functions within the building.
In addition to the main fitout works, SHAPE managed the make-good and handback of ten upper floors, ensuring the successful transition from levels 8 to 30.
