Operational efficiency boosted with minimal disruption

The existing Somersby Warehouse was the main facility for parts and material storage for our client and required significant upgrades to support their future growth. The project involved an upgrade to the roof, warehouse lighting, and offices to facilitate the current needs of the client’s operations. The project was executed on an operational site with minimal disruption to the client’s operations.

The 24,000m² roof was upgraded using a “roof-on-roof” system, allowing the warehouse to remain operational during the completion of works. This included the replacement of numerous purlin and girts that were subject to corrosion from roof leaks. The offices were upgraded to support the current needs of the client.

To ensure the successful completion of the roof upgrade works, particular attention was given to the logistics, efficiently managing material deliveries and loading materials onto the roof. Roof access safety measures such as roof handrails, roof anchor points, and stretcher stairs were implemented for the safe delivery of the project.

Coordination meetings were held to ensure roof details were correct. These details include but are not limited to batten spacings, roof flashings, penetration flashings, access hatch, ridge vent, whirly bird flashing, and mesh details for BAL rating compliance.

The sequencing of works included coordinating the relocation of existing solar panels on the roof ensured the roof upgrade works were completed on time

The clear and open communication with the client’s Site Manager was crucial throughout the project, ensuring that all aspects were managed effectively and efficiently.
