KPMG required an internal re-fit of their Darwin office, however in order to meet their branding requirements whilst remaining within budget, their first step was to develop ‘test-fit’ documentation.

Client: KPMG
Designer: Gabbert Design
Delivery Model: D&C
Location: Darwin, NT
Duration: 17 weeks
Project Size: 700 m2

KPMG engaged SHAPE to provide a thorough cost plan and further develop the design with the assistance of local consultants.

SHAPE worked collaboratively with KPMG and engaged with local consultants Gabbert Design, Ashburner and Francis, Select Services and HK Solutions to finalise a design that met KPMG’s branding guidelines, as well as meeting their functional requirements for the new spaces.

As the space remained occupied throughout the construction works, SHAPE carefully managed the schedule of works. Noisy and disruptive works were carried out over the Christmas shutdown period to ensure that there would be no impact to KPMG’s operations.

Additionally, a staging plan was developed in consultation with KMPG’s team to segregate areas for construction work without impacting the KPMG team’s efficiency or access.

During the design stage, our collaborative approach allowed SHAPE to advise on material selections that would not impact the programme dates. SHAPE utilised our database of reliable local subcontractors and consultants to ensure availability throughout the project duration.

This included the early engagement of the mechanical design consultant directly through our preferred mechanical subcontractor, resulting in a seamless and timely outcome for this large works package.

The project was delivered on time and within budget, allowing KPMG to transition smoothly into their new space. The client was thrilled with the result and with SHAPE’s ability to minimise disruption throughout the project journey.
