SHAPE were engaged via an ECI model to deliver a one-floor fitout of Aurecon’s Newcastle office at 727 Hunter Street.
Aurecon wanted to create an updated and personalised workspace for their regional sector. Somewhere where their valued employees could freely work from, providing a central hub for their local activities and to engage clients.
The new space featured an expansive layout with a detailed joinery package throughout and included breakout spaces, new kitchen, wellness room, server room and storage rooms. This was coupled with a wall panelling package derived from natural materials throughout the floor. The scope of works also included meeting rooms, including one with a new steel structure to support a new operable wall which would enhance the flexibility of the space. Surrounding these areas was an open workspace zone which was to be used as an ‘hot desk’ set up for employees.
With consideration to Aurecon’s yearly budget requirements, the team worked closely with the client and consultants to maintain the tight budget. The main requirement was to ensure Aurecon’s typical National Office Design was maintained, whilst incorporating a number of re-use components into the design to meet budget. The project utilised a mix of new and used workstations, as well as a number of furniture and storage items to ensure all project requirements and the clients key client values were met.
Communication was imperative to manage noisy and disruptive works during out of hours and works within a live environment with multiple tenants below.
