The SHAPE team coordinated its third annual NSW Charity Soccer Day event, raising $340,000 for Mates in Construction (MIC) and SeeBeyondBorders (SBB).
Held at Sydney Portugal Community Club on Friday, 9 March 2024, with 250 attendees and players from SHAPE and sponsoring subcontractors and suppliers. The funds raised will directly benefit the charitable organisations, who SHAPE have supported for many years.
SBB is a charity which aims to improve education for Cambodian school children, by providing access to quality teaching and learning at schools in Cambodia. SHAPE have a long-established partnership with SBB, having donated $500,000 since 2013.
SHAPE has been a partner of suicide prevention organisation MIC since 2016, donating over $500,000 to the charity and supporting its mission to reduce suicide rates and improve the mental health and wellbeing of those in the industry.
Approximately 32 teams took part in the anticipated matches, with the grand final comprising of the Profectus and Inline Flooring teams. The overall winner was Profectus, who took home the trophy for the 2024 NSW Charity Soccer Day.
SHAPE ran a variety of activities during the day, including a live auction and silent auction, followed by a comedic performance from Dave Hughes.
The funds raised will directly benefit the charitable organisations, who SHAPE have supported for many years.
A huge thank you to RH Art & Framing and Merlin Entertainments for the generous contribution to our raffle and auction prizes, which included jerseys and sports memorabilia signed by the likes of Christino Ronaldo, Liverpool Football Club, Mike Tyson, Novac Djokovic and Valentino Rossi, and Prosigns for their signage donation.
