SHAPE NSW scores big for charity, raising $210k at its 2025 Soccer Day

The SHAPE NSW team laced up once again for its highly anticipated Annual Charity Soccer Day, held on Friday, 12 September 2025, at the Sydney Portugal Community Club in Fraser Park. This year’s event brought together 32 teams and 270 players, including 40 SHAPE players, along with more than 50 spectators and volunteers. Together, we raised $210,000 in support of ReLove, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, SeeBeyondBorders and MATES in Construction.

For the first time, teams played on Fraser Park’s brand-new astroturf field, adding an extra buzz of excitement to the day. After an action-packed competition, PSB Air were crowned champions, with Formcorp taking out second place.

Off the field, players and guests enjoyed arcade games, a raffle and a silent auction, with prizes generously donated by Harvey Norman, Winnings Appliances, Bunnings and RH Framing. Their support, along with the enthusiasm of every participant and volunteer, helped make the event a huge success.

Funds raised this year will make a real difference across a variety of causes. ReLove helps people escaping domestic violence and homelessness by providing quality furniture and household essentials to create safe, comfortable homes. Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation supports life-saving care, equipment and research to help children recover and thrive. SeeBeyondBorders empowers teachers and improves education outcomes for children in Cambodia, while MATES in Construction works to improve mental health and prevent suicide across the construction industry through on-site training and support programs.

Reflecting on the day, James Fitzgerald, General Manager at SHAPE NSW, said “Our Annual Charity Soccer Day continues to be one of the most rewarding events on the SHAPE NSW calendar. This event brings together every part of our network, our subcontractors, suppliers and team members, all united by a shared purpose. It’s a reminder that beyond the projects we build, we have the power to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.”
