Our SHAPE+ team’s strong understanding of NRMA’s specific brand standards allowed us to ensure consistency and create efficiencies that saved time and money on each project.

To adhere to COVID social distancing measures when consulting its valuable customers, Insurance Australia Group (IAG) sought to relocate its NRMA Insurance retail kiosks into shop tenancies at Marrickville, Penrith, Burwood and Erina, in New South Wales.

The SHAPE Sydney Team was engaged to provide a swift fit for purpose design and a smooth delivery to get the four NRMA branches up and running as fast as possible, while ensuring COVID-safe practises and a quality result. Our team worked collaboratively to value manage and re-purpose some of the existing NRMA kiosk furniture, joinery and signage in the new stores.

The scope of works also included new flooring, paint, power and data, Zip units, and the relocation and recommissioning of IT equipment. The SHAPE+ team also completed a demolition and make good of the existing kiosks.

As the retail projects were all completed during the COVID pandemic, the team faced many challenges, including the construction pause and specific restrictions in some local government areas. Our team were able to overcome these obstacles by clearly communicating the impact of the restrictions to the client and collaborating with subcontractors to understand what resources were available and the status of long lead-time materials.

Despite the restrictions, SHAPE worked very closely with all the stakeholders involved to deliver a great outcome for each of these locations, reinforcing our team’s pre-existing relationship with the client.
