The hotel was in poor condition and a full cosmetic refurbishment was required along with infrastructure services and Building Code of Australia (BCA) upgrades for compliance.
The refurbishment consisted of 140 guestrooms and corridors over four levels including presidential and royal suites. Works also included a full face-lift, with some layout alterations to public areas, function areas, the kitchen and bar, back of house offices and lobby areas.
The highlight of this project was the rooftop bar and pool, where an old condemned space was transformed into a glamourous look out over Sydney Harbour for the rich and famous.
