A new chapter for SHAPE Victoria: Celebrating leadership and looking ahead

After 17 years with SHAPE and nearly 10 of those leading our Victorian business, Adam Head will be stepping down as General Manager – VIC at the end of this financial year to pursue personal endeavours. Adam has led the SHAPE Victoria team with integrity, drive and a deep commitment to people, shaping the business into one of the state’s leading construction services providers.

As we look to the future, we’re excited to announce the appointment of Michael Buddee as our new General Manager of SHAPE VIC, effective 1 July 2025.

Michael has been with SHAPE for over 12 years, working closely with Adam over the past five to deliver on our business plan and support our clients. With qualifications in both civil engineering and architecture, Michael brings a rare depth of understanding across all facets of design, construction, and delivery. His people-first leadership style and strategic vision make him the ideal person to lead SHAPE Victoria into the future.

Michael has delivered key projects for SHAPE Victoria, such as the ANZ Open House Refurbishment, the BHP Melbourne Office Consolidation (MBAV Award Winner), and the Chadstone Place Upgrade & Officeworks Integrated Fitout (Australia’s first ILFI Zero Carbon Certification). He has also been instrumental in the team’s recent expansion into Geelong, as well as the subsequent project wins and successful deliveries in the region.

Joining Michael in this new chapter is Robert Hayes, who has been promoted to Senior Commercial Manager. A carpenter by trade with 17 years at SHAPE, Rob is known for his practical insight and commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients. His technical expertise and collaborative approach will play a key role in supporting the team as we take on new challenges and opportunities.

Together with our broader VIC team, Michael and Rob are energised and ready to take SHAPE Victoria into its next phase – partnering with our clients, subcontractors and consultants to set a new benchmark for construction excellence.

As the SHAPE Victoria team prepares for FY26 and beyond, their focus remains on delivering outstanding project outcomes, investing in our people, and building trusted partnerships that support sustainable growth.

We thank Adam for his incredible leadership and legacy, and we congratulate Michael and Rob on their well-deserved appointments. The future is bright for SHAPE Victoria – and we can’t wait to share what’s next.
