SHAPE delivers a modern modular pavillion for The Carlson Reserve

The Carlson Reserve project, an initiative of the Monash City Council, involved the revitalisation and expansion of public open space to enhance family social recreation. Included in this project was the demolition of the original sports facility and the addition of a modern modular pavilion catering to the local sporting clubs with four changerooms, umpires room, first aid, social space with fully equipped kitchen, storage areas, and amenities as well as civil works and landscaping.

Introducing a modular construction approach reduced on-site construction time and minimised disruption to the adjacent sports fields. The integration of sustainable design features such as solar panels and a rainwater harvesting systems, aligns with Council’s environmental goals. The installation of roller doors on key switches allows four teams to effectively use two large changerooms with shower and toilet facilities. Energy efficient commercial kitchen appliances were installed to ensure the facility is multi-purpose.

Local suppliers and trades were prioritised, fostering economic inclusion by providing opportunities to small and medium enterprises within the community.

This project was delivered on time and within budget. Minor variations due to client planning involved a substantial landscape and hardscape package around the perimeter of the building.
