SHAPE leads a multi-stage fitout that fosters collaboration and flexibility

The new Department of Health (DOH) is located at 25 Argyle Street in Hobart, Tasmania and consolidates administrative services that directly support the Royal Hobart Hospital into one building.

The space forms part of a long-term DOH strategy to implement a future workplace model that provides alignment between business units and staff to work in a consistent, dynamic, and flexible workspace.

SHAPE were engaged to fitout five floors for the DOH to create multiple work spaces to accommodate a flexible open work environment to nurture collaboration while still maintaining private work spaces for meetings and independent working. Each floor has a staff breakout space for stakeholders to enjoy with all the facilities needed for relaxing and eating. The works were completed over four stages to allow stakeholders to continue to operate as normal within the building while each space was transformed.

Winner - Master Builders Tasmania 2024 Awards for Excellence: Renovation/ Fit-out $1m - $5 million category.
