SHAPE and Mitchell Shire Council team up for cutting-edge sports pavilion in Wallan

SHAPE (formerly KLMSA) have a long-standing relationship with Mitchell Shire Council. When the Council and Wallan Secondary College required a modern sports pavilion in quick time, it was natural they would partner with us. Results driven design and construction projects with open and professional communication have always gone hand-in-hand when working with this team.

To meet community needs this functional and practical facility caters to Australian Rules Football and Cricket Clubs as well as the secondary school. Comprising seven modules, the building is fit-for-purpose with two unisex changerooms, two umpires’ rooms, a kiosk with servery, separate accessible amenities with a baby-changing station, and storage area. All current sporting requirements have been adhered to as well as Female Friendly Sport Infrastructure Guidelines and the Australian Standards for Access and Mobility.

Home to the Wallan Magpies Junior Football and Netball Club and Wallan Kookaburras District Cricket Club, this facility will give these clubs the opportunity to increase participation, particularly for young girls and women. “We know that Wallan will keep growing rapidly and sport is so incredibly important to this community…,” said Mitchell Shire Council Mayor Fiona Stevens.
