The City of Tea Tree Gully were looking to undertake significant refurbishments to 4 buildings for use as a new industrial service centre. SHAPE was engaged under a Design & Construct model to deliver over 15,000m2 of upgrades on a project site of approximately 40,000m2.
Part of the refurbishment involved a new build within one of the existing sheds. The new build included new offices, breakout spaces, storage rooms and meeting rooms for the council staff as well as the installation of a new facade. This area of work also involved a substantial 800m2 fire wall which extended to 10 metres in height.
Refurbishments to the remaining three buildings included meeting spaces, drive-through storage bays, a truck and car jacking hoist, a welding shop, a new mechanical workshop, and undercover vehicle storage suitable for a fleet of over 70 trucks and other vehicles. Many spaces required extensive upgrades to services – in particular, building three involved the installation of new mechanical ventilation to enable 39 vehicles within the space.
