SHAPE delivers a futureproof workspace for Russell Kennedy

Russell Kennedy, an award-winning Australian law firm engaged SHAPE for the fitout of their new Melbourne office, spanning four levels in the iconic 500 Bourke Street tower.

The new layout accommodates open workstations for more than 350 staff, collaboration spaces, seminar rooms with operable walls as well as a catering kitchen and cafe. The feature staircase linking Levels 16 to 19 enhances connectivity and encourages circulation for both the team and clients alike.

Russell Kennedy envisioned a high end and sophisticated workspace, reflecting their own style whilst incorporating 500 Bourke Street tower’s design language. Emphasis was also placed on creating a sustainable and futureproof workplace with the inclusion of a state-of-the-art technology experience and targeting a 5 Star Green Star rating.

Utilisation of high-end finishes complementary of the client’s vision, assists in fostering comfortable and approachable relationships between the team and clients. High acoustic performance was also a key focus of this project. Oak timber cladded beams and columns, wood wool ceiling tiles and Pangaea poured concrete flooring all tie into inspiring Russell Kennedy’s present and future purposes and principles.

SHAPE’s pragmatic and collaborative approach to the project ensured a successful handover that fulfilled Russell Kennedy’s aspirations for their new workspace.
