Sparke Helmore Lawyers appointed SHAPE to deliver a fit-for-purpose facility located at level 27–31 of the MLC Centre at Martin Place, Sydney.

Client:
Sparke Helmore Lawyers

Designer:
Bates Smart

Delivery Model:
Design and Construct

Location:
Sydney, NSW

Duration:
34 weeks

Project Size:
5,000 m2

The client engaged SHAPE under a design and construct contract, which involved taking the brief and requirements from the design phase all the way through to construction.

The fitout consisted of:

  • Offices, workstations, collaboration spaces, utility points and tea points on practice group floors (levels 27, 28, 30 and 31)
  • A client facility floor on level 29 which included reception, staff breakout, meeting rooms, office services and a commercial kitchen

To maintain delivery and site access at the MLC Centre, our team implemented a thorough delivery booking system and lift car driver. This assisted the team in managing the material deliveries and personnel travelling from the loading dock to the fitout floors.

Our team also managed the coordination of services and architectural requirements by conducting multiple meetings with all of the service disciplines and architects. This allowed us to provide a solution that met the client’s needs.

This project involved significant services installation to an intricate ceiling designed by the architect. To meet the architectural intent, we worked with Bates Smart to provide alternate ceiling solutions, as well as actively coordinating with all stakeholders to achieve Perfect Delivery for the client.
