SHAPE were selected for the project after our SA Team successfully delivered IAG's previous Adelaide office fitout.

The project included an open-plan office area with approximately 100 height-adjustable workstations, numerous meeting and quiet rooms, services upgrades, accessibility upgrades (including braille and hearing loop support), and a ‘marketplace’ breakout area.

SHAPE was engaged early in the project journey to undertake enabling works, including a new secure communications room. In addition to this, the client had prior experience with SHAPE’s South Australian team through the delivery of their previous office fitout.

Due to timing and cost-management considerations, IAG had identified that a Managing Contractor approach would be ideal following the delivery of the early works package. During the MC delivery phase, SHAPE undertook numerous site inspections and investigated buildability considerations that could positively impact the project’s programme and budget. A number of sustainability initiatives were also proposed and implemented such as re-use of suitable furniture, incorporating natural plants for clean air and to off-set carbon emissions, and donating the existing workstations to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore.

During the pre-construction period, SHAPE developed a detailed staging plan in close coordination with IAG to create swing spaces that would enable their team to remain operational as the works were underway. The works were completed over 3 main stages to balance efficiency whilst also minimising disruption for IAG’s team.
