SHAPE named in The AFR BOSS ‘Top 10 Best Places to Work’

This week we were absolutely delighted to be recognised by the Australian Financial Review as one of Australia’s Top 10 Best Places to Work in Property, Construction & Transport!

We have always been committed to making SHAPE the best place to work for all our employees. By providing a flexible and supportive workplace we encourage our people to strike the right balance between work and life responsibilities.

The AFR BOSS Best Places to Work list is an annual list, judged by behavioural science consultancy Inventium.

It ranks Australia and New Zealand’s best workplaces across 10 different categories: Agriculture, Mining & Utilities; Banking, Superannuation & Financial Services; Government, Education & NFP; Health Industries; Manufacturing & Consumer Goods; Media & Marketing; Professional Services; Property, Construction & Transport; Retail, Hospitality, Tourism & Entertainment; and Technology.

Entrants have to complete a staff survey, which needs to be answered by a representative sample of employees. It asks staff a series of questions about their experience working for their organisation. The staff survey results account for 50 per cent of the overall score.

SHAPE has been recognised for our commitment to flexibility, diversity, Indigenous reconciliation, safety, culture and the overall job satisfaction for all of our staff.

The Australian Financial Review said, “SHAPE has redefined its purpose and vision to place people at the core by concentrating on building and improving leadership capabilities at the individual, group and organisational level. It defined and communicated the desired behaviours to be a SHAPE leader and has consulted with employees to redesign the whole performance appraisal system.”

Earlier this year, SHAPE was also very proud to have received the SA Crystal Vision Award For Excellence (2020-2021). This award recognises an individual or individuals, business or organisation that is advancing and furthering the interests of women in the construction industry.

As SHAPE always aspires to be ‘The place where everyone wants to work’ we recognise that this is not possible without an environment where all people are treated with respect and have equal access to opportunities. This award is a milestone achievement and is a true statement to SHAPE’s dedication towards increasing female participation and retention in the construction industry.
