The SHAPE Canberra team teed off their highly anticipated 2026 Charity Golf Day at Gold Creek Country Club on Friday 27th March, raising $55,000 for Karinya House.
Combined with previous fundraising efforts over the past 12 months, the event brings SHAPE Canberra’s total contribution to Karinya House to $100,000.
The event brought together 120 attendees across 22 teams, including SHAPE members, subcontractors and volunteers, for a fun‑filled day on the course in support of Karinya House. With plenty of friendly competition throughout the round, it was a great opportunity to spend time with project partners and strengthen the relationships the team have built across the region.
The day began with breakfast at Trevino’s and warm before players headed out for a 9:00am start. From the first tee‑off there was plenty of friendly rivalry and banter, with the addition of a few novelty holes adding an extra layer of fun out on the course.
After a great round and some close scoring, ABS Facade team took out the win, with Integrity Signs finishing as deserving runner‑up. Following the round, teams and players returned to the Club to enjoy lunch, hear from special guest Kerry O’Keeffe, and take part in the silent auction, prize giving and presentations.
The SHAPE Canberra team is proud to have partnered with Karinya House for the 2025–2026 period and are pleased to continue supporting an organisation making a meaningful difference in the local community.
The funds raised will aid Karinya House in supporting women and children in Canberra and the surrounding region who are pregnant or parenting and in need of safety, shelter and a positive support network. Their services include 24/7 practical and emotional support, professional services, outreach programs, and opportunities for women to build confidence and skills for the future.
Reflecting on the day, Tom Sparkes, General Manager at SHAPE Canberra, said, “Days like this are a great reminder that the relationships we build across our projects extend well beyond the work we do on site. It’s fantastic to come together with our teams, subcontractors and partners for a great day on the course, while also raising important funds for Karinya House and supporting the vital work they do for women and children in our community.”
SHAPE would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the generous subcontractors and suppliers who sponsored the event and donated prizes, helping make the day such a success on and off the course.
