This office refurbishment consisted of delivering accommodation for the Department of Defence’s SEA1000 team. The project had high security and acoustic requirements, which SHAPE was able to meet by collaborating with SKM consultants, as well as Defence specific consultants, many of who were based outside of Adelaide.
Collaboration and constant communication were also essential in ensuring the client objectives were met within the challenging timeframe and allowed for prescheduled Defence inspections and commissioning dates.
SHAPE maintained and managed a safe construction project in spite of a large amount of work and personnel on-site within the short time frame. No safety incidents were recorded, with over 8,500 hours of subcontractor labour time during the project. SHAPE achieved this thanks to a dedicated resource for safety in addition to the Site Manager during the high-risk times.
