SHAPE was appointed by Qantas to complete a refurbishment of their Domestic Club and Business Lounge located in Melbourne Airport. Finishes include high-end joinery with luxury leather, stone and marble. The new “Spice Bar” features views into the kitchen for an immersive customer experience. The two commercial kitchens were an important feature, so our team flew the client down from Sydney to inspect samples for the kitchens to ensure they were satisfied before works were completed.

With the airport and the lounge itself running 24/7, keeping disruptions to a minimum required careful planning and constant communication. Our team ensured they understood the client’s needs and conducted weekly stakeholder meetings to keep all informed of upcoming works so operations could continue in conjunction with construction.

SHAPE employed a full-time night manager, and works continued into the early morning to ensure safety, client satisfaction, and minimal disruption.
