2023 QLD Annual Charity Golf Day raises over $53k for charity

SHAPE Brisbane and SHAPE Gold Coast collaborated with their subcontractors to raise $53,772 for its charity partners, MATES in Construction (MIC) and Lung Foundation Australia, for QLD Annual Charity Golf Day 2023.

SHAPE Brisbane and Gold Coast have partnered with MIC and Lung Foundation Australia this year, donating $26,886 to each organisation, more than their target goal of $20,000. With suicide being the biggest killer in the construction industry, MIC provides support for suicide prevention and early intervention through informative workshops, field officers, training, a support line, and case management. The Lung Foundation Australia has been committed to improving the lives of Australians living with or impacted by lung disease and lung cancer through life-saving research, champion programs, and other services.

SHAPE is dedicated to making a positive impact nationwide by coordinating numerous annual charity events. This event is part of SHAPE’s commitment to ensuring the sponsored charities receive much-needed funds and increase their visibility.

This year’s QLD Annual Charity Golf Day saw an attendance of 142 SHAPE’s Brisbane and Gold Coast teams, participating subcontractors, volunteers, and charity representatives. The event was held at the Brisbane Golf Club on Friday, 4 August, where participants competed in an 18-hole challenge, including a special Hole-In-One $50,000 Prize, for a chance to win various goodies.

The day concluded with a raffle where the attendees were given the chance to win exciting prizes – including two annual theme park passes to Sea World and Movie World and a one-night stay for two at the Royal Pines Resort.
