SHAPE expands national footprint with permanent Tasmanian office

SHAPE Tasmania

With over 34 years of national construction expertise, SHAPE is proud to announce the establishment of a permanent office for its growing Tasmanian team. This marks a significant step in cementing SHAPE’s presence as a leading construction partner across every state of Australia.

Following a decade of successful projects in Tasmania for clients such as the Department of Health, CSIRO and the Australian Bureau of Statistics, SHAPE has secured a permanent hub in Tasmania. This new office will support our rapidly expanding team in delivering accessible, diverse, and high-quality services for clients across the region.

As works are well underway on Launceston’s iconic Albert Hall Renewal Project, the team’s recently completed Department of Health Hobart Fitout earned the top honour in the Renovation/Fit-out $1m – $5 million category at the 2024 Master Builders Awards for Excellence in Tasmania. This outstanding project is also a finalist for the 2024 National Master Builders Australia Awards, set to take place in Hobart this November.

Leading our team of locally based employees is Tom Sparkes, General Manager – ACT & TAS. Tom has played a pivotal role in delivering key projects such as the Federal Courts of Australia, the Albert Hall Launceston Redevelopment, and the Department of Health Hobart Project. His expertise in contract management and project delivery, coupled with a calm, methodical approach to problem-solving, has made him a trusted leader in Tasmania’s construction sector.

Reflecting on the new office, Tom Sparkes said: “Solidifying SHAPE’s permanent presence in Tasmania marks a major milestone in our commitment to a truly national footprint. This move will enhance our ability to serve local clients, strengthen relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants, and create more employment opportunities for Tasmanians.”
