The SHAPE team raised a combined $60,000 for charity partners MATES in Construction (MIC) and Mater Little Miracles, in its 2024 QLD Annual Charity Golf Day.
The event was held on Friday, 9 August 2024 at the Brisbane Golf Club, and was attended by 150 sponsoring subcontractors and suppliers, and SHAPE team members. The proceeds raised from the event will go towards supporting MIC and Mater Little Miracles, and the important work that they do.
MIC is a suicide prevention organisation whose mission is to reduce the high level of suicide among Australian workers, while improving the mental health and wellbeing of those in the industry. SHAPE has been in partnership with MIC since 2016, donating over $500,000 in support of the organisation’s cause.
Mater Little Miracles is a community-lead initiative which aims to improve the condition of ill and premature newborns, run by the Mater Foundation. The organisation achieves this through life-saving research, care and equipment, with over 2,000 babies receiving round-the-clock specialist care from the team in Mater Mothers’ Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU).
After the golf games concluded the participating teams attended a presentation and lunch, followed by a raffle with a range of prizes on offer.
