SHAPE Gold Coast has won a Master Builders award for its fitout of the TAFE Queensland Robina Campus. This is the first award for the new SHAPE Gold Coast branch, which opened its office in late 2022.
The Gold Coast 2023 Housing & Construction Awards celebrate the best and brightest in Queensland’s building and construction industry. This year’s awards ceremony was held at RACV Royal Pines Resort on Friday, 21 July 2023.
SHAPE Gold Coast took out the top spot in the Commercial fitout over $10 million category for TAFE Queensland’s Robina Campus. Considered Australia’s first sustainable vocational education and training campus, TAFE Robina was designed from the ground up to be sustainable in building, fitout, procurement, curriculum, operations and culture.
Over 32 weeks, SHAPE worked with project managers EY Brisbane and designers AEQ Architects to bring modern design and construction practices to the project. The five-storey campus features a range of functional learning spaces for courses, including commercial cookery, hospitality, early childhood education and care, information technology, hair and beauty, and sport and fitness. These spaces will educate and train more than 2,000 students each year in the booming Gold Coast area.
TAFE Queensland’s Robina campus was previously recognised globally, taking silver in the Construction category at the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics 2022 Awards of Excellence.
Speaking on the win, David Wood, General Manager – QLD at SHAPE, said:
“This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and exceptional skills of each and every team member involved. It is truly an outstanding accomplishment that reflects our commitment to delivering excellence in our work.
Moments like these remind us of the impact we have in shaping the industry and leaving a lasting impression on our clients. This recognition highlights our team's talent and reinforces our position as market leaders in our industry.”
