SHAPE Adelaide is proud to partner with St Paul’s College on the next major stage of the school’s capital development program, delivering a new state-of-the-art Technologies Precinct scheduled to open in 2026, that will support curriculum growth and provide modern learning facilities for future generations.
The project will deliver a significant expansion of the existing Trade Training Centre, with the addition of a new adjoining two-storey building that will transform it into a comprehensive facility housing multiple specialist disciplines under one roof. Once complete, the Technologies Precinct will feature three purpose-built learning spaces for material production, including woodwork and metalwork, two fully equipped teaching kitchens for food and hospitality, and a dedicated area for digital technologies. Supporting general learning areas will also be integrated into the design, enabling theory lessons to complement hands-on learning.
The St Paul’s College expansion is being delivered with a strong focus on creating contemporary, flexible spaces that align with the school’s ongoing commitment to exceptional curriculum delivery and enhanced student experiences.
St Paul’s College Principal, Patrick Harmer, said the Technologies Precinct marks a significant step in the school’s long-term development.
Patrick states, “We are committed to providing our students with access to first-class facilities that support an outstanding educational experience. This new precinct will allow our students to explore emerging technologies, develop practical skills and broaden their learning in a modern, purpose-designed environment.”
The SHAPE Adelaide team brings extensive experience in delivering complex education builds, applying specialist skills in live environment construction, staging, and program management to ensure minimal disruption to the school’s operations during construction.
Grant Patterson, General Manager – SA at SHAPE, said SHAPE is excited to be delivering a facility that will directly support the College’s future-focused approach to learning.
"This project represents the type of highly specialised work our Adelaide team excels in. We are proud to partner with St Paul’s College to deliver a purpose-built facility that brings together multiple disciplines under one roof and meets the evolving needs of education delivery," Grant said.
The St Paul’s College project adds to SHAPE Adelaide’s growing portfolio of new build education work currently underway across South Australia.
At St Thomas More College, SHAPE is delivering a new single-storey learning facility, which includes the construction of a shared learning hub, new outdoor areas, and upgrades to existing amenities and site infrastructure. Works are being carefully sequenced to ensure minimal disruption to school operations.
Over at Seaview Downs Primary School, SHAPE is progressing a multi-stage redevelopment involving the demolition of outdated buildings and construction of new general learning areas and shared spaces across a total footprint of 3,300m². Civil and landscaping works will connect the new buildings and complete the revitalised school environment.
Across all projects, SHAPE Adelaide continues to demonstrate its capability and expertise in managing complex education builds, delivering contemporary learning spaces that meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and school communities.
