DLG SHAPE Turns 5

Back in 2016, SHAPE Australia partnered with The David Liddiard Group to create DLG SHAPE.

A majority Indigenous owned and managed construction business, DLG SHAPE combines the knowledge and experience of Indigenous business owner David Liddiard, OAM, and former SHAPE CEO, Michael Barnes.

Both passionate about collaboration, opportunity and equality, they came together to share their vision of a more equitable Australia and Indigenous economic independence through employment and commercial activity.

DLG SHAPE brings spaces to life for the Federal and State Governments and a wide variety of end-users, including offices, hospitals, educational facilities, hotels, retail, and public environments, they are committed to high Indigenous employment targets of a minimum of 10% local Indigenous engagement on every project and achieving outstanding work results.

Over the last five years, DLG SHAPE has completed over 70 Projects and generated over $70 Million in revenue on construction fit-out and refurbishment services across Australia for both government and private sector clients.

As part of their The Sleeping Giant, Social Return on Investment (SROI) Report, Supply Nation uses a multiplier to measure a businesses social return on investment. For every dollar of revenue, Certified Indigenous Suppliers create $4.41 of economic and social value. The report also found that Indigenous businesses employ more than thirty times the proportion of Indigenous people than other businesses, providing training to staff and a connection to culture.
