SHAPE was engaged by this State Government Department to deliver the fitout of their new office accommodation at 5 Bond Street, Ringwood. Spanning three floors and designed to support up to 350 staff, the project focused on creating a functional, welcoming and secure environment aligned with the department’s operational and cultural needs.
Levels 1 and 2 feature open-plan workspaces, large breakout areas, quiet rooms, boardrooms and a variety of meeting rooms, including a flexible conference space accommodating up to 100 people. The space was designed and delivered to a 5 Star Green Star rating, with an emphasis on occupant comfort, natural light and energy-efficient systems across heating, cooling and lighting.
At street level, a secure, public-facing floor supports complex departmental functions, integrating advanced duress systems and active staff safety monitoring. Acoustic performance was a critical design focus, achieved through high-spec partition detailing, full-height insulated walls, double glazing and one-way mirrored glass to provide privacy and discretion for frontline staff.
Delivered in just 15 weeks, including works over the Christmas period, the programme required precise coordination, particularly in accelerating the below-ground hydraulic infrastructure. The project was successfully completed on time and to a high standard, enabled by a committed, collaborative team of stakeholders.
