Phil joined the SHAPE board as Chairman in August 2012. He brings considerable experience in board operations and business management having served as Chairman of two ASX listed companies and several private companies over the past 10 years.
Prior to his director activities, Phil held several senior management positions in Australian mining and manufacturing businesses and has been responsible for the conduct of overseas operations in this role. He graduated in Commerce from the University of Newcastle where he undertook postgraduate studies in Marketing and Industrial Law.
Michael joined SHAPE in 1990, rising steadily from Project Manager to ACT Manager and Chief Executive Officer in 1997. After 20 years at the helm, he stood down as CEO in December 2017 and now remains on the board as a Non-Executive Director.
Michael holds a degree in Civil Engineering and has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Michael was a Director of the Green Building Council of Australia for 10 years and Chair of its Audit Committee for 5 of these years. He was also the founder of majority Indigenous owned construction fitout and refurbishment business, DLG SHAPE.
Gerard is one of the SHAPE founders and was initially responsible for the company’s shared services functions including Finance, People & Culture, Customer Experience and Business Technology.
Gerard’s main focus today is supporting and further enhancing SHAPE’s organisational culture through individual coaching and group development programmes.
Apart from accounting qualifications, Gerard also has post-graduate qualifications in leadership and is an accredited practitioner in the Human Synergistics suite of diagnostic tools which SHAPE uses extensively.
Peter loves surfing, fishing, snowboarding, soccer and pretty much anything that involves boats or water. He is a father of two teenage sons and made his come back to team sport as the proud coach of the over 35 F grade.

Peter Marix-Evans was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in December 2017. After joining SHAPE in 2011 as the Group Executive and General Manager of NSW, he became Chief Operating Officer in August 2016.
Peter brings more than 30 years of wide-ranging construction and industry experience, including senior roles in both commercial and public sectors including risk and commercial management, customer experience and environmental health and safety (EHS).
Before joining SHAPE, Peter held several operational and strategic management positions at Lend Lease, including General Manager for NSW, Operations Manager for ACT, National Operations Manager and Head of EHS for the Asia Pacific. He has particular passions for customer experience, as well as developing and leading high-performance teams.
Scott has a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney and is both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor.
After working as an External Auditor of SHAPE for seven years, Scott joined SHAPE as Financial Controller. He has been an integral member of the SHAPE team for over 10 years and is now Chief Financial Officer with both a strategic and operational focus.
Scott is responsible for SHAPE’s financial functions, including risk management and support as the business executes its strategies and initiatives.
Jim is a civil engineer with over 23 years experience in project and business management with Lend Lease and then was, for four years, Chief Operating Officer for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Since then he has provided event and property advice to a number of clients both in Australia and overseas.
Jim has been an non-executive director of several listed companies including the Goodman Group (2006 to 2018) and since 2010 has been Chairman of Laing O’Rourke Australia.
Craig has had an extensive international career with a range of large public companies in operational, functional, project leadership and unique advisory roles. He held several positions over many years with the Brambles Group, operating in more than 45 countries, including as President of Brambles’ CHEP logistics/network business across the Asia Pacific region. He has also held senior executive and advisory roles with the Westfield Group, Leighton Holdings Group and Lend Lease Corporation.
From 2014-2019, Craig was Chief Executive Officer of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority, the NSW government agency responsible for the development of the $10 billion Sydney Harbour urban renewal project, on the western edge of Sydney’s Central Business District.
